Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

膀胱咳宜茯苓甘草湯. 茯苓ㆍ桂枝 各二錢, 甘草 一錢, 入薑煎. 《海藏》

Translation

For the bladder cough, Poria and Licorice Decoction is appropriate. Poria and cinnamon twig, 2 don each; licorice, 1 don; decocted with ginger. — Haejang 海藏 (Donguibogam · Haesu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three drugs, and it is the Junggyeong formula of the same name: poria and cinnamon twig to move the water downward, licorice to hold the middle. The indication the Cough chapter gives it — coughing and losing urine — makes it the counterpart of the large intestine's Jeokseokjiuyeoryang-tang for coughing and losing stool, and both belong to Haejang's table rather than to the chapter's own practice. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
