Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治緊脣. 白布作燈炷如指大, 安斧刃上燃炷, 令汗出拭取, 付脣上, 日二三度. 故靑布亦佳, 猪脂調付尤佳. 《得效》

Translation

Treats tight lip. Make a lamp wick of white cloth the thickness of a finger, set it on the blade of an axe and light it; wipe off the sweat that forms and apply it to the lip, two or three times a day. Old blue cloth is also good, and mixing it with lard is better still. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Guseol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The 汗 is the oily condensate that collects on cold iron held over a flame — soot and tar, which is what the tradition is applying. It is the same principle as the Face chapter's stove-soot preparations. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
