Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治內傷, 脾胃不和, 飮食少進無味, 或時吐瀉. 取一斤切焙, 入陳皮四兩, 熬取汁如上法, 入蜜令稠, 服如上法. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats internal damage with the spleen and stomach in disharmony, little appetite and food without savour, or vomiting and diarrhoea at times. Take 1 geun, cut up and dry-roasted, add 4 nyang of tangerine peel, reduce to a liquor by the method above, add honey until thick, and take as above. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The companion to the paste above, and the pairing shows the chapter's distinction between the two atractylodes. Atractylodes lancea is drying and forceful and goes to spleen and kidney; white atractylodes supplements and harmonizes and goes to the spleen alone.
