Clinical commentary 臨床

The pill form of Sungihwajung-tang, by the same author and with much the same drugs, scaled up into a preparation to be taken over weeks rather than a decoction for an attack. Atractylodes and cyperus at three nyang each are the frame; the rest is the familiar reflux set with radish seed and perilla seed added to bring qi down. That a chronic reflux was treated with a standing pill rather than repeated decoctions is the practical point of the entry, and it is why the dose is a hundred small pills in hot water. **Contains pinellia, which is toxic in the raw state and must be properly processed.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
