Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治月經不行, 結塊疼痛. 四物湯, 加蓬朮ㆍ官桂各等分, 剉煎服. 《丹心》

Translation

Treats menses that do not come, binding into lumps with pain. Samul-tang with curcuma and cinnamon bark added in equal parts; cut up, decoct and take. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Po)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Samul-tang plus two — the simplest of the chapter's blocked-menses formulas and the model for how the Bogam builds on that base. Six medicinals, hence the name. Curcuma breaks and cinnamon bark warms, so the pair addresses a lump that is cold and fixed rather than hot.
