Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治血積. 四物湯料, 加三稜ㆍ蓬朮ㆍ乾漆(炒)ㆍ肉桂各等分, 煎服. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats blood accumulation. The ingredients of Samul-tang with sparganium, curcuma, dried lacquer (stir-fried) and cinnamon bark added in equal parts; decoct and take. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Jeokchwi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one formula in the section that supplements the blood while breaking it, and the pairing is deliberate: Samul-tang builds, sparganium and curcuma break, dried lacquer dissolves, cinnamon warms the vessels so the whole thing moves.
