Translation

Treats lumbar pain from a wrench, a blow, or a fall. Powder the above; take 2 don stirred into warm wine. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Yo)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Nineteen ingredients, and the architecture is worth reading: drynaria and pyrite at the head for the bone, then the blood-movers, then shell and bone beneath, and finally the wind medicinals and scorpion to reach the sinew. Drynaria's name — 骨碎補, *supplement for shattered bone* — says what the tradition used it for, and it remains the standing herb for fracture and bone injury. This is the chapter's most complete trauma formula. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
