Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治陽毒. 石膏二錢, 升麻ㆍ黃芩ㆍ杏仁ㆍ柴胡各一錢, 梔子ㆍ赤芍藥ㆍ知母ㆍ大靑各七分, 甘草五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑五片, 豉百粒, 同煎服. 《活人》

Translation

Treats yang toxin. Gypsum, 2 don; cimicifuga, scutellaria, apricot kernel and bupleurum, 1 don each; gardenia, red peony, anemarrhena and isatis leaf, 7 fun each; licorice, 5 fun. Cut up, make one packet, add five slices of ginger and a hundred fermented soybeans, and decoct together. — Hwarin 活人 (Donguibogam · Han)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The Hwarinseo's yang toxin formula without the rhinoceros horn, and it is the better of the pair. Gypsum and gardenia lead, isatis leaf and red peony cool the blood where the blotches are, bupleurum covers the shaoyang and apricot kernel the lung, and the hundred fermented soybeans finish it as a mild diaphoretic.
