Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治腰上浮腫, 咳喘. 麻黃三錢, 蒼朮二錢, 石膏ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑五片, 棗二枚, 水煎服. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats oedema above the lumbus with cough and panting. Ephedra 3 don, atractylodes lancea 2 don, gypsum and licorice 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Bujong)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Zhongjing's Yuebi-tang with atractylodes lancea taking the place of the usual larger ephedra dose, and gypsum held to a single don. The gypsum is what separates this from Mahwanggamcho-tang above: it answers the cough and panting, which mark heat closed in the lung behind the water. **Contains ephedra.
