Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

茅香(蜜炒) 一兩, 白芷五錢, 沉束香ㆍ白檀香ㆍ零陵香ㆍ甘松香ㆍ八角香ㆍ丁香ㆍ三乃子各二錢. 右並爲麄末, 入小腦二錢末, 和勻, 作一貼, 置衣箱中最佳, 夏月尤好. 《俗方》

Translation

Honey-fried sweet grass 1 nyang; angelica dahurica 5 don; chimsok aloeswood, sandalwood, loosestrife herb, nardostachys, eight-point aromatic, clove and kaempferia 2 don each. Make them all into a coarse powder, add 2 don of powdered borneol, mix evenly, and make up one packet; laid in the clothes chest it is excellent, and better still in the summer months. — Sokbang 俗方 (Donguibogam · Japbang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Not a medicine at all but a clothes-chest sachet, and the Bogam prints it among the processing methods because the compounding is the same work as compounding a powder. Sweet grass fried in honey is the base and bulk, angelica dahurica the second largest part, and the seven costly aromatics are present at 2 don each. Its practical function in a chest of stored clothes was to perfume them and to discourage moths and mustiness over a damp summer, which is why the leaf singles out the summer months.
