Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治五淋. 通草ㆍ葵子ㆍ茅根ㆍ桃膠ㆍ瞿麥ㆍ當歸ㆍ蒲黃ㆍ滑石ㆍ王不留行各一錢, 甘草五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑五片, 空心水煎服. 《濟生》

Translation

Treats the five stranguries. Tetrapanax, mallow seed, imperata root, peach resin, dianthus, angelica, cattail pollen, talc and vaccaria 1 don each; licorice 5 pun. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. — Jesaeng 濟生 (Donguibogam · Sobyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

桃膠, the gum that weeps from a peach tree — slippery, and used here as a mucilage to ease the passage, which is the same reasoning as the mallow seed beside it. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
