Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治水腫, 二便澁. 澤瀉ㆍ赤茯苓ㆍ枳殼ㆍ猪苓ㆍ木通ㆍ檳榔ㆍ黑牽牛(頭末) 各等分. 右爲末, 生薑ㆍ葱白湯調下二錢. 《入門》

Translation

Treats water swelling with stool and urine both rough. Alisma, red poria, bitter orange, polyporus, akebia, areca and black morning glory seed (first milling only) in equal parts. Powder them and take 2 don stirred into a decoction of fresh ginger and scallion white. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Bujong)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Six water-draining medicinals with morning glory seed added to open the stool as well. The indication names both passages as blocked, and the formula answers both — most of the section's prescriptions address urine alone. **Contains morning glory seed, a purgative.
