Pill formula, bulk amounts: powdered and bound with a paste of medicated-leaven powder steeped in ginger juice into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds. Every night at bedtime 100 pills are swallowed rolled in malt syrup, and then Taepyeong-hwan is held in the mouth — 'the two medicines attack in concert, and the phlegm-cough is removed at the root.'

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治虛勞, 肺痿咳嗽, 熱痰雍盛. 靑礞石(火煆如金色)ㆍ明白礬(另硏細)ㆍ皂角ㆍ南星(炮)ㆍ半夏(生製)ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ陳皮 各二兩, 枳殼ㆍ枳實 各一兩半, 薄荷 一兩, 沈香ㆍ黃芩 各五錢. 右爲末, 薑汁浸神麴末作糊和丸如梧子大. 每服百丸, 每夜臨臥, 飴糖拌呑, 次噙嚼太平丸, 二藥相攻, 痰嗽除根. 《新書》
Translation
Treats vacuity taxation with Lung-wilting cough and hot phlegm congesting and exuberant. Chlorite schist (calcined to a golden color), clear alum (ground separately and finely), gleditsia pod, blast-fried arisaema, raw-prepared pinellia, white poria, and tangerine peel, 2 nyang each; bitter orange and unripe bitter orange, 1.5 nyang each; mint 1 nyang; aquilaria and scutellaria, 5 don each. Powder the above and bind with a paste of medicated-leaven powder steeped in ginger juice into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds. Take 100 pills every night at bedtime, swallowed rolled in malt syrup, then hold and chew Taepyeong-hwan — the two medicines attack in concert, and the phlegm-cough is removed at the root. — Sinseo 新書 (Donguibogam · Heoro)
