Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治渾身麻木. 黃芪二錢, 白芍藥ㆍ灸甘草各一錢半, 人參一錢, 陳皮七分, 蔓荊子五分. 右剉作一貼, 水煎服. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats numbness and woodenness of the whole body. Astragalus 2 don; white peony and roasted licorice 1 don 5 pun each; ginseng 1 don; tangerine peel 7 pun; vitex 5 pun. Cut up as one packet and decoct in water. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Pi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Six medicinals, five of them qi tonics, with vitex the only one that moves — Dongwon's treatment of whole-body numbness as a plain insufficiency of yang qi reaching the surface.
