治心熱. 黃連不拘多少, 爲極細末. 每服二分半, 或五分, 或一錢, 溫水調下. 《錢乙》 一名黃連瀉心湯.
Translation
Treats heart heat. Coptis, any amount, ground to the finest powder; take 2 pun 5 ri, or 5 pun, or 1 don at a dose, stirred into warm water. — Jeon Eul 錢乙 (Donguibogam · Sim) Also called Coptis Drain the Heart Decoction.
Clinical commentary 臨床
Coptis alone, and three doses to choose from by age — a gram for a small child, four for an adult. Qian Yi's Sasim-tang is not Zhongjing's, which has rhubarb and scutellaria with it; this is the single-ingredient version the Fire chapter's 5.5.2 cited for the heart. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
