Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治血脹, 煩燥漱口. 與上人參芎歸湯同, 而無烏藥, 有芍藥耳. 《入門》

Translation

Treats blood distension with vexation and agitation, and rinsing the mouth without swallowing. The same as the Ginseng, Chuanxiong and Angelica Decoction above, except that it has no lindera and has peony instead. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Changman)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One medicinal changed, and the indication changes with it. 漱口 — rinsing the mouth without swallowing — is the classical sign of blood stasis rather than true thirst: the mouth is dry but the patient does not want to drink, because the fluid is present and merely not moving.
