Translation

Treats wasting-thirst. Ginseng, dried raw rehmannia, prepared rehmannia, astragalus, asparagus root, ophiopogon, bitter orange, dendrobium, loquat leaf (mulberry root bark substituting if unavailable), and alisma, 1 don each; licorice 0.5 don. Cut the above, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — This formula is the material of the Two Yellows Pill joined with Sweet Dew Drink: it engenders essence and supplements the Blood, moistens dryness and stops thirst; with alisma and bitter orange as assistants it courses the two bowels, sending heart fire downward — then the urine flows clear, the Lung channel is moistened, the large bowel moves freely, the stale heat melts away, and the thirst stops of itself. Its workings are deep and refined; nothing surpasses its subtlety. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Sogal)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The source's own praise says it best — Two Yellows and Sweet Dew joined, with alisma and bitter orange as the couriers that walk the heart's fire down through bladder and bowel. Its cleverness, the Deukhyo insists, has no superior; the thirst stops because the stale heat finally has an exit. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
