Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産後腫, 宜補中導水行氣. 白朮三錢, 陳皮一錢半, 木通ㆍ川芎ㆍ赤茯苓各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入水煎, 呑下與點丸 <span class='sochu'>方見火門</span> 二十五丸. 《丹心》

Translation

Treats swelling after birth; one should supplement the center, conduct the water, and move the Qi. White atractylodes 3 don; tangerine peel 1.5 don; akebia, cnidium, and red poria, 1 don each. Cut the above, make one packet, decoct in water, and swallow down 25 pills of Yeojeom-hwan <span class='sochu'>— formula in the Fire chapter —</span> with it. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The stated aim is the interesting part — *supplement the center, conduct the water, and move the Qi*, three verbs in one line. Atractylodes at three don does the supplementing while akebia and red poria drain, and cnidium keeps the blood moving so the drainage does not simply thicken what remains.
