Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風蟲牙痛動搖潰爛, 或變成骨槽風出膿血骨露. 地骨皮ㆍ白芷ㆍ細辛ㆍ防風ㆍ升麻ㆍ川芎ㆍ當歸ㆍ槐花ㆍ藁本ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入生薑三片, 黑豆百粒, 煎熱漱冷吐. 《丹心》

Translation

Treats wind and worm toothache with the teeth loose and ulcerated, or turned into bone-trough wind with pus and blood and the bone laid bare. Lycium root bark, angelica dahurica, asarum, saposhnikovia, cimicifuga, chuanxiong, angelica, sophora flower, ligusticum and licorice 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger and a hundred black soybeans, decoct, rinse with it hot and spit it out cold.

Clinical commentary 臨床

骨槽風 — bone-trough wind, where the jawbone itself is exposed: osteomyelitis of the mandible, which before antibiotics followed a neglected dental abscess often enough to have its own name. 熱漱冷吐, rinse hot and spit cold, is the instruction for every rinse in 4.29. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
