Translation

Treats incontinence of urine, worse at night, with dizziness and weak legs. The old and the vacuous often have this pattern; it greatly wastes a person's essence and fluids and can make one die suddenly. Cuscuta (wine-processed), leek seed (lightly fried), alpinia, fennel (stir-fried) and cnidium seed (stir-fried) in equal parts. Powder them, bind with wine paste into pills the size of a firmiana seed, and take fifty to seventy with glutinous rice water. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Sobyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Five seeds, all warm — the simplest of the chapter's incontinence pills. 遇夜愈多, worse at night, is nocturia, and the Deukhyo's warning that it wastes the essence is the tradition's reading of why the old grow frail once it starts. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
