Translation

Mulberry leaf treats lung-toxin sores on the face resembling the great wind sores. Take the leaves, wash them clean, steam them through, sun-dry them and powder them; take 2 don stirred into water, three times a day. It is called Nokun-san. — Boncho 本草 (Donguibogam · Myeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

綠雲, the green cloud, is the powder itself — the colour of dried mulberry leaf ground fine. 如大風瘡, like the great wind sores, is the chapter comparing the eruption to leprosy, which tells us how severe a face it was written for, and 肺毒, lung toxin, is its explanation: the lung governs the skin, so what breaks out on the face came from there. Mulberry leaf is cooling and mild and the preparation is a food; whatever it did, it did no harm. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
