Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治痰濕泄瀉. 半夏ㆍ陳皮ㆍ赤茯苓ㆍ白朮ㆍ蒼朮ㆍ山藥各一錢, 縮砂ㆍ厚朴ㆍ木通ㆍ車前子(炒)ㆍ甘草(灸) 各五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑三片, 烏梅一箇, 燈心一團, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats phlegm damp diarrhoea. Pinellia, tangerine peel, red poria, white atractylodes, atractylodes and dioscorea, 1 don each; amomum, magnolia bark, akebia, stir-fried plantago seed and roasted licorice, 5 fun each. Cut up, make one packet, add three slices of ginger, one mume plum and one bundle of rush pith, and decoct in water. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The third of the Hoechun's Myriad Diseases series in this chapter, built on Ijin-tang instead of Oryeong-san, and so aimed at the mucous rather than the watery stool. The construction is the same each time — a standard base, the chapter's spleen drugs, and ginger, plum and rush pith at the end — which makes the three a useful set to read together: water, heat, phlegm. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
