Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治濕熱風燥合而爲痔. 其腸頭成塊者, 濕與熱也; 作大痛者, 風也; 大便秘結者, 燥也. 此藥神效. 秦艽ㆍ皂角仁(燒存性)ㆍ桃仁泥 各一錢, 蒼朮ㆍ防風 各七分, 黃栢(酒洗) 五分, 當歸梢(酒洗)ㆍ澤瀉ㆍ檳榔末 各三分, 大黃 二分. 右除檳榔ㆍ桃仁ㆍ皂角仁外, 餘藥剉作一貼, 水三盞煎至一盞二分, 去滓入三味末, 再煎至一盞, 空心熱服, 以美膳壓之. 一服卽愈. 《東垣》
Translation
Treats damp, heat, wind and dryness combining into piles. That the bowel's head forms a lump is damp and heat; that it pains greatly is wind; that the stool is bound and blocked is dryness. This medicine is divinely effective. Gentiana macrophylla, gleditsia seed (burnt with the nature retained) and peach kernel paste 1 don each; atractylodes lancea and saposhnikovia 7 pun each; phellodendron (wine-washed) 5 pun; angelica tails (wine-washed), alisma and powdered areca 3 pun each; rhubarb 2 pun. Setting aside the areca, peach kernel and gleditsia seed, cut the rest and make one packet, decoct in three jan of water down to one jan two pun, strain, add the three powders and decoct again to one jan; take hot on an empty stomach and follow with good food.
