Translation
Treats stomach reflux, and settles whether the patient will live or die. Realgar, cinnabar, frankincense, pinellia, saussurea, nutmeg and pot-bottom sootused as the coating, 3 don each; aquilaria, 1 don; asafoetida and sal ammoniac, 5 fun each; mung bean, forty grains; smoked plum, forty fruits, scalded and stoned. Powder them, bind with the smoked plum flesh and pound into pills the size of a bullet, coat them with pot-bottom soot and dry them in the shade. Hold one pill in the mouth each time until it melts and swallow it, rinse the mouth with ginger decoction, then burn an old wheat cake, chew it fine and send the medicine down with it. As soon as the pill is put in the mouth, light a stick of official incense: if the incense burns out before the pill has melted the case is hard to treat, and if the pill melts before the incense is spent the patient may be cured. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Guto)
