Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治熱毒ㆍ時毒發癍. 猪膽二合, 苦酒三合, 鷄子生一箇. 右煎三沸, 强人盡服, 弱人煎五六沸服之. 《活人》

Translation

Treats heat-toxin and seasonal-toxin macular eruption. Pig bile 2 hop, vinegar 3 hop, one raw egg. Bring to the boil three times; a strong patient takes the whole of it, a weak one has it boiled five or six times first. — Hwarinseo 活人 (Donguibogam · Pi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three kitchen ingredients and no medicinal herb at all. The dose is adjusted by boiling rather than by measure — three boils for a strong patient, five or six for a weak one — which cooks the bile's harshness out.
