Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

紫菀茸ㆍ白芷ㆍ人參ㆍ黃芪ㆍ地骨皮ㆍ杏仁ㆍ桑白皮ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑三片ㆍ棗二枚, 水煎服. 《三因》

Translation

Aster shoots, angelica dahurica, ginseng, astragalus, lycium root bark, apricot kernel, mulberry root bark and licorice, 1 jeon each. Cut up, make one packet, add three slices of ginger and two jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Samin 三因 (Donguibogam · Cheonjiungi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The formula for the eul years, where the metal circuit is insufficient. The difference between this and the mu-year formula at maekmundong-tang-ungi is instructive: both are lung formulas, but where fire was in excess the prescription cools and moistens, and here, where the lung itself is short, it supplements — ginseng and astragalus at a full jeon each, with lycium root bark for the heat that has got in. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
