Translation

Treats aversion to cold after sweating. Cinnamon twig, 2 don; honey-roasted licorice, 1 don 5 fun; peony, atractylodes and blast-fried aconite, 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet and decoct in water. Treats agitation with cramping of the legs. — Junggyeong 仲景 (Donguibogam · Han)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Not the famous two-drug formula but a five-drug one that keeps its name, and the Bogam enters it for two indications a page apart: aversion to cold after sweating, and agitation with cramping legs. Those are the same patient — someone sweated until his volume and salt are gone, who is now shivering and cramping — and treating it with cinnamon twig, aconite and atractylodes to secure the surface, with peony and licorice for the cramp, is a coherent answer. The two-drug version remains the better formula for cramp alone. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
