Translation

Treats spleen fire exuberant with sores arising on the lips, or eating much and hungering easily. Red peony, gardenia, coptis, gypsum, forsythia and mint 1 don each; licorice 5 pun. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Guseol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

多食易飢 — eating much and hungering easily, listed alongside lip sores as one presentation. The Flesh chapter's 8.5 gave the same appetite its own name, 食㑊, and both put it down to stomach heat. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
