Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治婦人冷證脇痛, 諸藥不效. 香附子 四兩, 以醋二升ㆍ鹽一兩同煮乾爲度. 肉桂ㆍ玄胡索(炒)ㆍ白芍藥(酒炒) 各一兩. 右爲末, 每二錢, 沸湯調下. 《得效》

Translation

Treats a woman's cold pattern flank pain where no other medicine has answered. Cyperus 4 nyang, boiled with two seung of vinegar and a nyang of salt until dry; cinnamon, corydalis (stir-fried) and white peony (wine-fried) 1 nyang each. Powder them and take 2 don at a time stirred into freshly boiled water. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Hyeop)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Cyperus at four nyang, boiled in vinegar and salt until dry — the vinegar takes it into the liver and the salt into the kidney, and the processing is a third of the formula's work. Corydalis and peony for the pain, cinnamon for the cold. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
