治産難. 蛇退全者 一條, 蚕退紙 方圓一尺. 右燒存性爲末, 溫酒調下. 《丹心》
Translation
Treats difficult birth. One whole snake slough; a square foot of silkworm egg paper. Burn them preserving their nature, powder, and take stirred into warm wine. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Buin)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Both ingredients are things a creature has come out of, and that is the whole reasoning: what was shed easily makes what is stuck come away easily.
The three formulas at 1.22.5 to 1.22.7 and the one at 1.27.4 all work on this principle, adding a cicada slough and then human hair as they escalate. It is resemblance reasoning of the kind the Accumulations chapter states outright at 1.8.14. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
