Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産後諸風, 攣急或痿弱. 川芎ㆍ當歸ㆍ熟地黃ㆍ白朮ㆍ白茯苓各一兩, 白芍藥ㆍ秦芃ㆍ羌活ㆍ白芷各七錢, 防風五錢. 右以一半爲細末, 溫酒調下二錢, 以一半爲末, 蜜丸梧子大, 溫酒呑下五七十丸. 《丹心》

Translation

Treats the various winds after delivery, with hypertonicity and cramping or with wilting and weakness. Chuanxiong, angelica, cooked rehmannia, white atractylodes and white poria 1 nyang each; white peony, large gentian, notopterygium and angelica dahurica 7 don each; saposhnikovia 5 don. Powder half finely and take 2 don stirred into warm wine; make the other half into honey pills the size of a firmiana seed and take fifty to seventy down with warm wine. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One preparation divided into two forms — half a powder for quick action, half a pill for continued use. The chapter does this only where a condition needs both relief and a long course.
