Translation

Treats vacuity taxation with Yin-Blood worn to exhaustion: a soot-dark complexion, deafness and dim vision, weak legs and lumbar pain, and white turbid urine. Wine-soaked Korean angelica 2 nyang; butter-roasted deer antler 1 nyang. Powder the pair and bind with a paste of boiled mume flesh into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; swallow 50–70 pills with warm wine. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Heoro)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Black by name and by indication — the sooty face of exhausted liver blood answered with the darkest simplicity in the chapter: angelica for the blood, antler for the essence, and sour plum paste to bind them, in that order of rank. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
