Clinical commentary 臨床

Chuanxiong at chief rank is what distinguishes this from the other general-use formulas — a blood medicinal leading a rheum formula. The chapter recommends it for retained rheum with pain through the joints of the limbs, and the reasoning is that rheum which has sat long enough to reach the joints has drawn the blood into the problem. Retained rheum left long enough, the same passage warns, dislocates the joints and may turn to epilepsy. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
