Translation

Treats food damage with the chest and heart region full, oppressed, and uneasy: the base Jichul-hwan with dry-fried medicated leaven and dry-fried barley sprout, 1 nyang each, added; made and taken as above. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The starch specialist — medicated leaven and barley sprout are the pharmacy's two fermentation products, digestive cultures avant la lettre, sent in when the stalled meal was bread and grain. Enzyme therapy, four centuries early. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
