Translation

Treats glomus, disperses food, and strengthens the stomach. White atractylodes 2 nyang; bran-fried unripe bitter orange 1 nyang. Powder the pair and bind with rice baked wrapped in a lotus leaf into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 50–70 up to 100 pills with boiled water. — Or when one has been pressed by others to overeat and taken damage, simply take this: it makes the stomach Qi strong, and one is not damaged again. Originally this was Zhongjing's formula, the Zhizhu Decoction; with Yilao it was changed to a pill and named Jichul-hwan. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two herbs and one doctrine — tonify twice as much as you disperse, and the fullness resolves without weakening the patient. The seed from which the entire strengthen-and-disperse family grew. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
