Clinical commentary 臨床

The warm counterpart to 茯苓飮子: the same rheum below the heart, but in a patient who is cold and depleted rather than congested, so the ginger and cinnamon lead and no phlegm-mover is needed beyond 半夏麴. 虛人, a vacuous person, is the whole indication — the formula is chosen by the constitution, not by the symptom. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
