Pill formula, bulk amounts: powdered and bound with a ginger-juice wheat paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, coated with cinnabar; 30–50 pills with a ginger decoction. Note on modern practice: cinnabar is omitted in contemporary preparation; involuntary movements require neurological evaluation.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治痰涎留于心包, 精神不守, 健忘恍惚, 或風涎潮作, 手足抽掣. 大半夏(薑製) 六兩, 天南星(炮) 三兩, 朱砂(水飛) 一兩爲衣, 琥珀ㆍ白礬(枯) 各五錢, 母眞珠 一錢. 右爲末, 薑汁麪糊和丸梧子大, 朱砂爲衣, 薑湯下三五十丸. 《得效》
Translation
Treats phlegm-drool lodged in the pericardium, the spirit not keeping watch, with forgetfulness and abstraction — or wind-drool surging up, with the hands and feet jerking and pulling. Large ginger-processed pinellia 6 nyang; blast-fried arisaema 3 nyang; water-levigated cinnabar 1 nyang, used as coating; amber and calcined alum, 5 don each; mother-of-pearl 1 don. Powder the above and bind with a ginger-juice wheat paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, coated with cinnabar; take 30–50 pills with a ginger decoction. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Sin)
