Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治胃寒冷, 嘔吐淸水冷涎, 脉沉遲. 人參ㆍ白朮ㆍ赤茯苓ㆍ乾薑(炮)ㆍ陳皮ㆍ藿香ㆍ丁香ㆍ半夏ㆍ縮砂(硏)ㆍ桂皮各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑三片ㆍ烏梅一箇, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats cold in the stomach with vomiting of clear water and cold drool and a pulse sunken and slow. Ginseng, white atractylodes, red poria, blast-fried dried ginger, tangerine peel, patchouli, clove, pinellia, ground cardamom and cinnamon bark, 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add three slices of ginger and one smoked plum, and decoct in water. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Guto)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ijung-tang with the aromatics of Gwakhyangjeonggi-san folded in and cinnamon bark added: ten drugs at an equal don, which is the Hoechun manner. What it is for is the patient who brings up clear watery fluid rather than food, with a slow sunken pulse — the sign set the chapter reads as cold rather than heat, and the one it warns at 1.3 against treating with cooling drugs. **Contains pinellia, which is toxic in the raw state and must be properly processed before use.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
