Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
香附子 四兩, 陳皮 二兩, 茯神ㆍ甘草 各一兩. 右爲末, 每二錢, 沸湯點服. 《入門》
Translation
Cyperus 4 nyang, tangerine peel 2 nyang, poria with pine root and licorice 1 nyang each. Powder them and take 2 don at a time sprinkled into boiling water. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Buin)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Cyperus at half the total weight, which is the chapter's usual proportion when it is treating bound qi in a woman. The Uterus chapter's cyperus formulas at 13.9 do the same.
抑 — to restrain or press down — rather than to break or to move. The qi is not attacked but settled, with poria beside it to quiet the spirit. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
