Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治諸風, 諸癎, 痰涎涌溢. 瓜蔕(炒黃爲末), 每取五分, 病重者一錢, 熟水調下. 如不吐, 再進一服. 《醫鑑》 一方, 藥末 二錢, 茶末 一錢, 酸虀汁調下, 以吐爲度. 《丹心》 如吐風痰, 加全蝎 五分(微炒). 如有蟲者, 加猪油 五七點, 雄黃末 一錢. 甚者, 加芫花末 五分, 立吐蟲出. 如濕腫滿, 加赤小豆末 一錢. 《丹心》 又一方, 名獨聖散. 治痰涎塞胸. 瓜蔕ㆍ鬱金 各等分. 右細末, 每一錢或二錢, 酸虀汁調下, 鵝翎探吐. 《丹心》
Translation
Treats all wind patterns and epilepsies, with phlegm drool welling up and overflowing. Melon stalk, stir-fried yellow and powdered; take 5 pun at a dose, or 1 don where the disease is severe, stirred into boiled water. If there is no vomiting, give one further dose. Another formula: 2 don of the powder with 1 don of powdered tea, taken stirred into sour pickle brine, vomiting being the measure. For vomiting wind phlegm, add 5 pun of scorpion (lightly stir-fried). Where there are worms, add five or seven drops of lard and 1 don of powdered realgar. In severe cases add 5 pun of powdered genkwa flower, and worms are vomited out at once. For damp swelling and fullness, add 1 don of powdered adzuki bean. Another formula also called Lone Sage Powder treats phlegm drool blocking the chest: melon stalk and turmeric root tuber in equal parts, finely powdered, 1 or 2 don at a dose stirred into sour pickle brine, with a goose feather to probe and induce vomiting.
