Clinical commentary 臨床

Amomum and tsaoko at the head, which makes this the most warming and aromatic of the stomach formulas here, and the indication names the cause outright: raw and cold food in hot weather. Mume and pueraria are the pair that answers the thirst without more cold, and the five slices of ginger — more than usual — are the measure of how cold the stomach is taken to be. For cramping abdominal pain with vomiting after cold food, which is a common enough summer presentation, this is a well-aimed prescription. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
