Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治酒齄. 老山梔子仁爲末, 黃蠟等分, 熔化和丸彈子大, 茶淸嚼下, 忌熱物, 半月效. 《得效》

Translation

Treats wine-nose. The kernels of old gardenia powdered, with an equal weight of beeswax melted and bound into pills the size of a bullet; chew them down with clear tea, avoid hot things, and in half a month it answers. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One cooling medicinal in wax, chewed with tea, for half a month, with hot food avoided throughout. The avoidance is half the treatment: rosacea flares with heat, and the Deukhyo says so without knowing why. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
