Translation

Treats the same as the above. Peach kernel; pagoda tree fruit, crushed; and mugwort leaf, 2 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add three slices of ginger and two dates, decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Han, lower)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three drugs where the preceding formula used five, and the reasoning is narrower: no cooling at all, only worm-killing and blood-moving. Pagoda tree fruit is the classical drug for sores of the lower orifices and still the standard one for haemorrhoids; mugwort was burnt and taken against worms across the whole East Asian tradition; peach kernel opens the blood of a lesion that has stopped healing. Where 黃連犀角湯 reads the fox-delusion pattern as heat toxin, this one reads it as worms in a cold, stagnant lower burner — the same disease approached from the other side, and the Bogam prints both without choosing. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
