Translation

Treats Yin vacuity with fire stirring: tidal heat, night sweats, phlegm panting, and a flurried heart. Prepared rehmannia, dried raw rehmannia, asparagus root, ophiopogon, Korean angelica, white peony, cornus, and dioscorea, with white poria and white atractylodes, 0.7 don each; moutan bark, alisma, and phellodendron and anemarrhena (both honey-water-fried), with roasted licorice, 0.5 don each. Cut the above, make one packet, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach. — Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Hwa)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The chapter's grand synthesis for the yin-vacuous flush — the Six Flavors' full architecture, the Four Substances' blood wing, both asparagi for moisture, and the honey-tamed cold pair at the root, all at one even humble dose. Named in hexagrams because the strategy is cosmological: turn fire-over-water back into water-over-fire. For the tidal heat, the soaked nightclothes, and the fluttering heart, this is the formulary's most complete single answer. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
