Clinical commentary 臨床

The same name as the formula before it and a different argument. Where the Dansim version is built on Ijin-tang and works on phlegm and damp, this one drops pinellia entirely and adds forsythia, fritillaria and perilla leaf — a formula for depression that has already turned to fire. The stated aim says so: to open depressed fire, not merely to course the qi. Eleven medicinals all at 1 don is the signature of a formula that treats a compound condition without ranking its parts, which suits a section whose premise is that the six depressions arise from one another. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
