Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治諸虛痼冷ㆍ厥逆如神. 水銀 四兩, 硫黃 一兩. 右同入鐵銚內, 炒成砂子. 有烟熖起, 以醋灑之. 硏細, 入水火鼎, 赤石脂封口, 鹽泥固濟, 炭二十斤煆, 經宿取出, 細硏, 糯米糊和丸麻子大. 每五七丸, 以至十五丸, 空心, 以人參大棗湯下. 忌食猪羊血ㆍ菉豆粉ㆍ冷滑之物. 《局方》
Translation
Treats the entrenched cold of all depletion patterns and reversal cold, with marvellous effect. Quicksilver, 4 nyang; sulphur, 1 nyang. Put the two together into an iron pan and roast until they form into grains; when smoke and flame rise, sprinkle with vinegar. Grind fine, place in a water-and-fire crucible, seal the mouth with kaolin, lute it tight with salt clay, calcine over twenty geun of charcoal, leave overnight, take out, grind fine and make pills the size of hemp seeds with glutinous rice paste. Take five to seven pills per dose, up to fifteen, on an empty stomach, washed down with a decoction of ginseng and jujube.
