Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治同上. 草決明ㆍ條芩ㆍ黃連酒炒ㆍ黃栢ㆍ知母幷鹽酒炒各一兩, 羌活ㆍ獨活ㆍ五味子ㆍ當歸ㆍ防風ㆍ甘草各五錢, 石決明(煆) 三錢. 右爲末, 蜜丸菉豆大, 茶淸下百丸. 多服補陽湯, 少服此丸. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats the same as above. Cassia seed, the branch root of scutellaria, coptis wine-fried, and phellodendron and anemarrhena both salt-and-wine fried, 1 nyang each; notopterygium, angelica pubescens, schisandra, Korean angelica, saposhnikovia and licorice 5 don each; abalone shell (calcined) 3 don. Powder them, make honey pills the size of mung beans, and take a hundred down with clear tea. Take much of Boyang-tang and little of this pill. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The evening half of the pair, and the dosing instruction at the end is the point of it: much of the warming decoction and little of this cold pill.
