Translation

The adzuki bean flower disperses wine toxin and resolves the illness of drink. Adzuki bean flower and pueraria flower in equal parts, baked dry and powdered; take 1 or 2 don in a drink, and one does not become drunk. It is called Ssanghwa-san. — Jibyo 集要 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

雙花, the two flowers, and the pairing is the formula. Pueraria flower is the corpus's standard drug against drink — it is the head of 葛花解醒湯, the formula the Internal Damage chapter is best known for — and the adzuki flower is its partner here. 令不醉, so that one does not become drunk, is prophylaxis rather than cure, and nothing taken beforehand prevents intoxication; what it may do is settle the stomach. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
