Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
烏鬚黑髮, 返老還童, 神效無比. 何首烏 八兩(入砂鍋內, 黑豆同蒸半日, 去豆, 用好酒浸七日曬乾, 如此蒸七次), 破故紙 四兩(酒洗, 砂鍋內炒黃), 旱蓮汁 二兩, 槐角 二兩(爲末), 胡桐淚 一兩(爲末). 右細末, 棗肉 二斤, 胡桃仁 半斤, 擣爲丸梧子大, 空心, 鹽湯下五七十丸. 服三月, 勿輟. 《醫鑑》
Translation
Blackens the beard and hair and turns age back to youth, with divine effect beyond compare. Fleeceflower root 8 nyang (put in an earthenware pot, steamed half a day with black soybean, the beans discarded, soaked seven days in good wine and sun-dried — steamed thus seven times); psoralea 4 nyang (wine washed, dry-fried yellow in an earthenware pot); eclipta juice 2 nyang; pagoda tree fruit 2 nyang (powdered); poplar resin 1 nyang (powdered). Powder finely, and with jujube flesh 2 geun and walnut kernel half a geun pound into pills the size of firmiana seeds. Take 50 to 70 on an empty stomach with salt decoction.
