Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治崩漏不止, 因脾胃虛而心包乘之, 故血漏而下. 黃芪ㆍ蒼朮ㆍ羌活各一錢, 柴胡ㆍ升麻ㆍ防風ㆍ藁本ㆍ甘草(灸) 各七分, 蔓荊子五分, 獨活ㆍ當歸各三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats flooding and spotting that will not stop, arising because the Spleen and Stomach are vacuous and the pericardium rides upon them — hence the Blood leaks and descends. Astragalus, atractylodes, and notopterygium, 1 don each; bupleurum, cimicifuga, saposhnikovia, ligusticum, and roasted licorice, 7 fun each; vitex 5 fun; pubescent angelica and Korean angelica, 3 fun each. Clinical commentary 臨床

Almost the same crew as Seungyangjogyeong-tang, with astragalus and atractylodes promoted and the etiology stated more precisely: the Spleen and Stomach have gone vacuous, and the pericardium *rides* them — a superior taking advantage of a weakened subordinate.
